Upcoming Cars to be launched in India in 2016

1. Nissan GT-R 2016

The Japenese automobile maker revealed its flagship car in the recent Delhi AutoExpo, the car is likely to make its on-road debut on the roads of India by September, this year. The car would be the most lavish product from Nissan to the Indian nation as it entered the arena.The price of the car is expected to be around 1.2 -1.8 crore.

The car boasts3.8-litre, twin-turbocharged, V6 engine, the car can reach to a mind numbling 570PS of max power and 463 Nm of peak torque. Power is sent to all four wheels through a 6-speed dual clutch transmission. The car can reach 100 km/hr from standstill in less than three seconds and can go all the way up to a top speed of 310 km/hr. Nissan GT-R will readily give a huge competition to cars like the Audi R8, Porsche 911,Mercedes AMG series etc.

2. Ford Mustang 2016

 Ford will finally introduce its iconic sports car – Ford Mustang – in India on July 13, 2016. The Mustang made its Indian debut early this year, and was also showcased at the Delhi Auto Expo 2016.The car is likely to come to India by the end of august.The car would fetch  a price of about Rs 40 lakh- Rs 55 lakh.

Ford has completely changed the Mustang's cabin, giving it the look of a truly modern product. The material quality inside and outside the car has been  to a great extent, and the overall layout is more stylish and easier to figure out.

The car will be available in 3 variants either a 306bhp, 2.3-litre, 4-cylinder EcoBoost turbocharged petrol, 296bhp, 3.7-litre V6 and 429bhp,or 5.0-litre V8 petrol engine that is capable to develop 396bhp of power and 515Nm of torque. The Mustang will compete with elite cars of Audi, BMW and Mercedes in this price range.

3. BMW M3 2016

BMW is all set to launch the redesigned version of BMW M3 in India possibly by the end of july 2016 and the expected pricing for the car is expected to be around 1.2-1.3 crores.The new M3 retains the structural changes, unique suspension components, lightweight seats, and the carbon-fiber pieces that set it apart from the regular 3-series.

BMW M3 will boast a 3.0 litre six cylinder engine that generates a power of 431 Bhp and 550 Nm of torque and on top of that a seven speed dual auto clutch Automatic transmission.The upcoming BMW M3 will feature three distinctive driving modes COMFORT, SPORT and SPORT+.

The car is expected to have a fuel economy of approximately 7-8 kmpl in city and 11-12 kmpl on highway. In India the major competition for the new upcoming BMW M3 will be Mercedes Benz E63 AMG and the Porsche Panamera.


4. Mercedes S-Class Carbriolet 2016

 After the showcase at the 2016 Auto Expo held in Greater Noida,India.The Mercedes S-Class Cabriolet is expected to be launched in India possibly in October and should be priced upwards of Rs 2 crore in India.

 The car boasts a 4.7-litre twin-turbocharged petrol V8 engine powering the rear wheels.The 449bhp of power and 700Nm of torque are transferred through a speed automatic gearbox.

The flagship Mercedes convertible mimics the S500 two door coupe in  design, dimensions and features, while the hard top gets replaced by a softcover. The S-Cabriolet will compete with the Bentley GTC, the Maserati Gran Cabrio and Ferrari California in context of the price tag.

4. Jaguar F-Pace 2016

Jaguar, the British car maker has finally put their feet in the Suv market by introducing the F-Pace and it looks like they are in for a long run. The F-Pace will finally be seen in India by the end of this year.

In terms of power, the sporty crossover uses the same 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel engine seen on the  Jaguar XE, while a 3.0-litre turbo V6 diesel is also offered as optional on the R-Sport and First Edition trims.The front of the car resembles that of an Jaguar XE whereas the rear gets Jaguar F-Type inspired tail lights. The Jaguar F-Pace will be going on sale in the country by the end of this November.The F-Pace’s interior is tactile and attractive. It looks and feels classy, in a way that only Jaguars can, and it’s far more special to sit in than a BMW X4 or Porsche Macan.

The F-Pace also comes as standard with a system which detects impending head-on crashes and prevents them.  This type of system is proven to reduce accidents, and is an optional extra on some rivals – a big box ticked for the Jaguar, then.The F-Pace will be competing with Audi Q5, BMW X3, Mercedes GLK-class.


5. Jeep Grand Cherokee 2016

Fiat has announced the introduction of the Jeep brand of SUVs in India. The plan for India includes the Wrangler and Cherokee SUV’s .The Grand Cheerokee is expected to be in Indian markets around August, this year with  a hefty price tag of around Rs 35 to Rs 50 lakhs.

The car's shape has been made more distinct with help from LED taillights and some better detailing.The Base models use a 3.6-liter V-6, which now makes 295 horsepower and is for 2016 fitted with fuel-saving engine stop-start systems backed by an 8-speed automatic.The car will  have a top speed of over 200 kmph.

The brakes are traction controlled with strong suspensors. The wheel options include 17 inch or 18 inch wheels. Overall this SUV seems to have more presence than a Audi Q7! The car will compete with Land Rover Discovery sport, BMW X3 and Audi Q7.  


6. Porsche Boxster 2016

Of all the Porsches sold in India, the Boxster is the cheapest two-seater Porsche that you can buy and the all new Boxster is a completely new model aiming to better its predecessor. The Boxster will compete with the BMW Z4 and Nissan 370Z and Mercedes SLK in India.

The first batch of  deliveries will begin starting this summer.This roadster has a stylish body structure that is equipped with various aspects. The front facade looks quite stylish with a well designed headlight cluster and a sleek bonnet.This model line up has a specifically designed aluminum body shell, which is built on intelligent lightweight construction technology.

The Boxster and Boxster S are powered by iconic flat-six engines with direct petrol injection. There is loads of power as the  new  Porsche Boxster gives 265 bhp from a 2.7 litre displacement which is 10 bhp more than its predecessor. Technically, it is now based on the 3.4-litre engine of the Boxster S. The 3.4-litre now delivers 315 bhp, 5 bhp more than before. 


7. Mini Clubman 2016

Ever since the iconic British luxury car maker, Mini launched Mini Cooper Clubman at the 2016 AutoExpo the fans of mini have been wondering when they would be able to buy themselves this fine piece of machine. Well to put all rumors to rest the auto maker finally revealed that the clubman will hit the market by the end of Feburary,2016 and is expected to be priced at around 20-35 lakhs. The Clubman  will be competing against the likes of Mercedes Benz A Class, BMW 1 Series, Volvo V40 Cross Country and others in this segment.It gets six doors and two each for the two comfortable seating rows and the barn doors for a substantial boot to keep the baggage.

The Clubman is built on the UKL2 platform and will get the 2.0-litre 112bhp turbocharged diesel engine that develops 270Nm of torque from 1750rpm. This engine is already available with the Mini Countryman and is mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox powering the front wheels.

It may also get the 1.6-litre petrol engine option.The engine of this 5-door car is expected to be coupled with a six speed automatic transmission gear box. It allows the motor to attain a top speed in the range of 200 to 203 Kmph.


8. Audi SQ7

Audi has finally shown green flag (For production in the indian market) to its much awaited monster Suv car the SQ7 and is expected to come to India pretty soon,possibly by the end of october,2016. SQ7 is also the first production car to ever feature an electrically powered compressor, or EPC, which is designed to speed up the response from Audi’s latest 4.0-liter V8 TDI engine, a true piece of engineering art that wipes the floor with the dated V12 when it comes to efficiency.

The fact that the SUV loses four cylinders but gains the glorious ’S’ logo shining on both the rear-end and front grille, must account for something, and it makes you think whether this downsizing deal is such a bad tradeoff after all. In fact, the SQ7’s power plant has the honorable status of being the most powerful diesel engine currently on the planet.The new power plant produces 435 hp (320 kW) and a massive 900 Nm of torque, available from as low as 1,000 rpm to 3,250 rpm. At the center of the SQ7’s chassis is Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive system with a 60:40 rear- to front-axle setup. It is constructed entirely out of aluminum for both strength and weight-saving reasons.

Audi have done a few minor modifications to the SQ7’s design to make it stand out slightly over the standard Q7 On the inside of the SQ7 the focus on luxury and space is unequivocal. The SQ7 is the most spacious SUV in its segment and optionally provides space for seven people. Its interior design is simple and clean, yet elegant. Finally the price well it's going to cost you anywhere between 1.2-1.3 crores(oouch that bites...).
