Audi India has buckled up its seat belts again for giving proper chills to indian customers for one more time as they are now ready to reveal their estate monster the RS6 Avant to the indian customers. It is scheduled to launch on June 4, 2015. It follows the recent launches of the Audi TT facelift and RS7 Sportback
Powering the Audi RS6 is a gasoline 4.0-liter TFSI twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 560PS of power and torque of 700nm. An eight speed tiptronic transmission feeds the output to the system quattro. The car sits on 20 inch wheels by default, with the option of 21-inch size as well.
The Audi RS6 Avant will be brought in as CBUs, and will serve as a halo model in the carmaker India line up. Expect the car to cost north of Rs.1 crore. The RS6 Avant is the high performance version of the A6 Avant; before mean body style property.
Speaking of performance, the RS6 Avant boasts enormous power. The turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine is a 552bhp mammoth couple 71.4kgm. Mated to an automatic gearbox eight-speed, power is sent to all four wheels via Audi Quattro AWD system. A 0-100kph sprint is achieved in a claimed 3.9 seconds, while continuing to hit a top speed of 304kph.
When Audi updated the entire A6 line up last year around the Paris Motor Show, the RS6 also received the tweaks and the upgraded equipment. So the RS6 gets the Matrix lights aka adaptive LEDs which will have to certainly make it to the India bound model as well. The RS6 will also preview the new styling that you can expect on the S6 and A6 later this year, which includes single grille piece, the new LED DRLs and the revised theme for the taillights.
The car is scheduled to be launched in India on 4th June 2015 and it will sit over the S6 in the lineup, so expect the pricing to be between Rs.1 crore and 1.25 crore. Stay tuned for more updates. The moved is a brave one in some senses, since India has traditionally not been a station wagon market.
